WebP gives 25-35% smaller files than JPG at the same visual quality. Ideal for websites. All modern browsers support it. Downside: some older programs (Office before 2021) cannot open WebP.
JPG does not support transparency. Our tool automatically fills transparent pixels with white. To preserve transparency, pick WebP instead of JPG.
No. Resolution (width × height in pixels) stays the same — only the compression algorithm and quality change. To resize the image you need a different tool (a resizer).
JPG and WebP are lossy formats — you can choose how much detail to discard for a smaller file. Low (60%) — visible loss of detail, file is small. Medium (85%) — default, good balance. High (95%) — almost imperceptible loss, file stays larger. PNG has no such choice (lossless).
